Pay Rate Range: $15.50-$17.50
Position Summary
The Terrain Park Staff at Swain Resort plays a crucial role in creating a safe, fun, and well-maintained terrain park experience for guests of all skill levels. This position is responsible for building, maintaining, inspecting, and monitoring all features within the park while providing excellent guest interaction and upholding resort safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with daily setup, teardown, and maintenance of terrain park features including jumps, rails, boxes, and signage.
- Monitor park conditions throughout the day and make adjustments to maintain safety and rideability.
- Inspect features regularly and report hazards or needed repairs to the Terrain Park Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the park, including fencing, signage, and rope lines.
- Provide friendly, helpful interaction with guests while enforcing park rules and safety guidelines.
- Assist with feature construction, snow shaping, and hand-tooling as directed.
- Work closely with Grooming, Mountain Ops, and Ski Patrol to support park needs and safety.
- Assist with events, competitions, and photo/video sessions within the terrain park.
- Adhere to all resort safety policies and proper tool/equipment use.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Terrain Park Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience in terrain parks, skiing, snowboarding, or freestyle riding preferred; training available.
- Strong understanding of terrain park etiquette and feature use.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for long periods.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., use hand tools, and perform moderate physical labor.
