Status: Seasonal / Part-Time
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Position Summary
The Lift Attendant at Powder Mills Ski Area is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the rope tow and learning-area lifts. This role supports a beginner-friendly environment, assists young skiers and families, and ensures a smooth, safe experience for all guests using the lift systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate the rope tow and any surface lift equipment safely and according to established procedures.
- Assist guests—especially children and first-time skiers—with using the lift safely and confidently.
- Maintain clear, safe loading and unloading areas, including ramp shaping and snow removal.
- Monitor lift operations and report any concerns or equipment issues to the Powder Mills Operations Manager.
- Keep the lift area, shack, and surrounding work zones clean and organized.
- Observe weather and snow conditions that may affect operations and communicate changes promptly.
- Support crowd management during peak lesson times and busy evenings.
- Deliver friendly, helpful guest service and provide basic information about the facility and programs.
- Follow all safety policies and ensure guests are using the lift correctly and safely.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Comfortable working outside in winter weather conditions.
- Friendly, patient, and confident working with children and new skiers.
- Able to stay attentive while performing repetitive tasks.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Availability on evenings, weekends, and peak lesson times is required.
- Prior outdoor or guest service experience is helpful, but not required.
