Location: Swain Resort – Swain, NY

Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)

Pay Rate Range: $15.50-$17.50

Position Summary

The Cook at Swain Resort plays a key role in providing high-quality food for our guests in a fast-paced mountain environment. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items according to Swain Resort’s standards, ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and excellent guest service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet guest demand.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen areas, and equipment.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist with prep work, stocking, and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
  • Adhere to all safety and resort policies, including proper use of equipment and protective gear.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup for special events, banquets, and busy weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
