Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)
Pay Rate Range: $15.50-$17.50
Position Summary
The Cafeteria Cashier at Swain Resort provides fast, friendly, and accurate service to guests purchasing food and beverages in a high-volume environment. This position is responsible for operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and credit transactions, and helping maintain a clean and organized cafeteria area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, helpful service.
- Accurately process guest orders and payments through the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions responsibly and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- Assist guests with menu questions and provide basic information about resort offerings.
- Restock beverages, condiments, and grab-and-go items as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station, dining area, and condiment stands.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure quick and accurate order delivery.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and resort safety policies.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Provide support during peak hours, events, and weekends.
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, food service, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and attention to accuracy in handling money.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great guest service.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and busy event days.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
