Location: Swain Resort – Swain, NY
Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)
Pay Rate Range: $15.50-$17.50
Position Summary
The Cook at Swain Resort plays a key role in providing high-quality food for our guests in a fast-paced mountain environment. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items according to Swain Resort’s standards, ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and excellent guest service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet guest demand.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen areas, and equipment.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with prep work, stocking, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management.
- Adhere to all safety and resort policies, including proper use of equipment and protective gear.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for special events, banquets, and busy weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
