Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)
Pay Rate Range: $15.50
Position Summary
The Lift Attendant at Swain Resort is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the resort’s chairlifts and surface lifts. Lift Attendants play a key role in ensuring guest safety, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors on the mountain.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate chairlifts and surface lifts safely and efficiently according to resort procedures.
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide assistance as needed when loading or unloading.
- Monitor lift areas for safety, ensuring ramps are properly maintained and clear of hazards.
- Perform regular lift inspections and report any issues or maintenance needs to the Lift Operations Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lift shacks and surrounding areas.
- Monitor weather and snow conditions that may impact lift operations.
- Communicate effectively with other lift operators, patrol, and Mountain Operations staff.
- Assist with crowd control and line management during busy periods.
- Uphold all resort safety standards and policies at all times.
- Provide guests with general resort information and assist in creating a positive mountain experience.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, and wind.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain alert and focused while performing repetitive tasks.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and during peak resort periods.
- Previous lift operations or outdoor recreation experience a plus, but not required.
