Mountain Monsters

Our monsters rip up the mountain!  During this six-week program, young skiers with an interest in racing will work with our expert coaches who will lead them around the mountain and show them the safe way to have fun and improve their skills.  Mountain Monsters is geared toward skiers ages 6 - 12.

Mountain Monsters:  Goes from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm for six straight Saturdays beginning January 5th.
Cost:  $199*

*Lift tickets & rentals are not included.  A season pass is recommended for this program.

NASTAR

(National Standard Race) on Wheels Run is for everyone! Anyone who can get to the start can participate, it doesn’t matter if you choose to ride Racing skis, a snowboard, telemark or twintips. We also run events on weekends and holidays when the slope is available. NASTAR uses a handicapping system so you may compare yourself to our current World Champion Ted Liggety, and other racers here or abroad, online. Racers from Swain qualify for Nationals in Snowmass Colorado this year! Get started today!

NASTAR: Most Fridays beginning January 11th from 4 pm-6 pm, President’s weekend- 10 to 2.  Make your way to the start building in the middle of Wheels Run. Register and pay on the hill, and we’ll get you started! Our friendly staff will help you get the most out of your gear and turn better and faster while you do it.

Cost: Varies ($10 for as many runs as you can fit in, or a per run price)

Kitt Cup

Push the edge of your envelope and lower your handicap! Four time Olympian and World Cup ski racer AJ Kitt started here at Swain, and we are thrilled that he continues to support Swain racing. Race in the ten-week series of races or just one event! Your progress will be charted throughout the season. Join us in the Shawmut Grille each week after the race to check your time, and for prizes and good cheer! The series is open to anyone, and if you join the series, you get free NASTAR included!

Kitt Cup:  Every Friday Night Beginning January 11th, 6pm to 8pm

Cost: $120 for the season or $15 per event (excluding lift tickets) Southern Tier Race League racers, we have a special deal for you, join any night’s race for only $10, that’s a major discount!

Swain Home Team

Arc’em or Park’em with the Swain Race Team! This is the place for the serious (or striving to be serious) racer with intermediate to advanced skiing ability who is looking for continuous improvement….and to shave seconds and tenths from their times.  Racers train two times per week and practice and race ONLY at Swain.

Practice Schedule:  Weekly Practice Schedule: Saturday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm; Sunday 9:00 am – 12 pm & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Practices run from early December through early March (snow permitting). 

Ages: Youth Racers Ages 8-18

Home Team Cost:  $350 for the first family member and $300 for each additional family member.

Includes:  This includes training/coaching and a locker in Swain Race Team room.  Any other fees would be additional.  A season pass is recommended for this program.

USSA membership (www.ussa.org), NYSSRA fees (www.nyssra.org), ski club dues, race fees, and lift tickets during racing or training are not included.

Swain Travel Team

The Swain Travel Team is a fantastic opportunity to improve your racing skills even further while getting to experience other ski mountains in the process.  Racers train two times per week and compete and travel to races against kids from other mountains in New York State.

Practice Schedule: Weekly Practice Schedule: Saturday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm; Sunday: 9am-12:00 pm & 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Practices run from early December through early March (snow permitting). 

Visit NYSSRA.org (NY State Ski Racing Association) for sanctioned USSA races in the region.

Ages: Youth Racers Ages 8-18

Travel Team Cost:  $500 for the first family member and $400 for each additional family member.

Includes: This includes training/coaching and a locker in Swain Race Team room.  Any other fees would be additional.  A season pass is recommended for this program.

DEV Team

The Swain DEV Team is geared toward improving the race skills of those who have limited time throughout the week to dedicate to training.  The DEV meets once a week and gives you the opportunity to pick and choose which Sundays to attend based on your busy schedule.  There is also an option to sign up for the entire season as well.

Practice Schedule:  Sundays Only (9:00 am – 12:00 pm & 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Practices run early December thru early March. (Snow permitting)

Ages: Youth Racers Ages 8-18

DEV Team Cost:  $275.00 each child for the season or $25.00 per day

Includes:  This includes training/coaching.  Any other fees would be additional.  A season pass is recommended for this program.
